Ruru - The Wisdom of Weisenstein

CHF799.00Price

The Ruru (Owl) is said to originate from the underworld, the Morepork (Ruru) is strongly associated with the spirit world in Maori mythology. This spirit is known as Hine-ruru, the 'owl woman'.

.

.

It is believed that these owl spirits can act as kaitiaki or guardians and have the power to protect, warn and advise.

.

.

I was inspired by an Owl I seen flying in the forest on Weisenstein Mountain near Solothurn in Switzerland, it was dusk and snowing, we had spent the day snow shoe hiking and on our way home. I was with friends and my partner and they walked ahead of me.

.

.

.

Sometimes living in a foreign country can feel overwhelming and disconnected from what you know, and how you perceive things to be. For me seeing the owl that day reminded me, that perhaps I'm exactly where I need to be right now.
