FINE ART PRINTS NOW AVAILABLE

The original piece was funded by Creative New Zealand. Te Mete celebrates the Maori people of New Zealand.

The figure in this piece is Cherilyn Anameka Pirini, local woman of Opotiki NZ and also the Kapa Haka (maori culture singing group) female leader for the award winning maori culture group, Opotiki Mai Tawhiti.

To Māori, women are te whare tangata – the house of humanity – and are venerated for their ability to create life. Many strong women have been prominent in Māori society, including the Māori queen, Dame Te Ātairangikaahu, and land-rights activists Eva Rickard and Whina Cooper.

Limited edition archival canvas prints are available.

Archival prints are stretched on a wooden frame.

Size: 720mm x 720mm approx.
